Junior visits Big City Little Kitty!

It's Junior!
His mama (and rescuer) brought him to say hello!
How cute is this little guy?!
If you remember the story of the Sandy Kittens, you will remember that one of the kittens was taken back by mama after the storm. This is him! Once he was eating on his own and showing up to the feeding spot, Rachael nabbed him and started socializing!
Look at this guys markings, amazing!
He's such a cutie! He had absolutely no fear! He stood his ground in front of papa Eko, he hunkered down to show respect, but did not give up his position, I LOVE IT!
He played with the cat dancer, chased the laser and just had a good old time!
When Rachael heard kittens, just days old, crying in her back yard as hurricane Sandy was rolling in, she didn't walk away, she helped. She watched to see if mama would come back, and when the storm picked up and the kittens were not in a safe place she picked them up, grabbed bottles and formula and saved them. Kudos Rachael! When Junior started coming around for food, she took him in planning to adopt him out...and just like that, he stole her heart and she stole his. She Junior's mama now!
Junior walks on a leash and climbs trees! What a life!
Rachael is now prepping to TNR the feral colony in her back yard!!!
I love a happy ending:)
THANK YOU RACHAEL!
GOLD STAR!

Lakshmi and Ganesha, Living Happily Ever After

Here they are! Living it up in their new forever home! They were adopted just before the New Year. I have checked in and found that this adoption is for keeps!

Here's Lakshmi doing what she does best, demanding FULL attention! All eyes on me please!
Ganesha found the cat tree almost immediately! You should have seen these guys when they arrived in their new home. Most kitties hide a little when they enter a new home, these guys had fully investigated the whole apartment, every room, within minutes!
 Little Lakshmi:)
And this has got to be one of my favorite kitten pictures EVER! How adorable! I see a holiday greeting card in their future.
Here's Ganesha and his papa.
Remember how little they were when they arrived?

They have always been sweet and loving to each other. It's always so great when they get adopted together!
Congrats little ones!

Happy New Year from Big City Little Kitty!

Happy New Year!

It was a busy year!

Charlie, Houdini, Evie, Chipo, Rufaro, Tapiwa, Lakshmi and Ganesha are all living happily ever after in their furrever homes.

My colony in LIC is still doing well.

I was a TNR coach for the first time in Sunnyside for a lovely woman named Danielle who became a great friend. I couldn't pull myself away from the project, so I stuck with her as a partner to see the project through to completion. The Shona kittens, Chipo, Rufaro and Tapiwa, came from this colony!

The Greasy Paws relocation took a toll physically, financially and emotionally. Thankfully, that worked out pretty well in the end.

LIC always sends a few angels my way each year. Bibi Dega was taken in by the bodega where Bo Dega lives. They are best buds, spayed and neutered and doing well. Sandy was found by Mildred. I had her spayed and Mildred fostered her and found and amazing, loving home. The other black and white guy, I don't remember his name, showed up on Mildred's street. He was in pretty bad shape. I brought some meds, eventually had him neutered and once recovered and healthy Mildred released him.

Some friends and I helped out a colony in LIC after storm Sandy

I had some dogs fixed too! 3 Pits needed some assistance in the Bronx; Nipsey, Maya and Dulce. A guy from the Bakery where my cat colony resides needed his lil guy fixed, so I hooked him up. And Mildred's dog, Ginger, was ready to go too, so she got spayed too.

Happy New Year!

Big Week for the Sandy Kittens!

Here is Ganesha at 8 weeks old!
He's so cute:)
8 Weeks old means time to go to City Vet!
Isabelle welcomed them with nuzzles and snuggles!
Jason weighed them in!
Then it was time to see Dr. Jules!
Or Dr. Adams if your not a kitten;)
Good boy Ganesha! Looking good!
Lakshmi put up a fight, but she was given the thumbs up too!
 Look at those strong teeth!
They received their first FVRCP vaccination and headed home!
That was last weekend, now they are 9 weeks old!
Even though they are not quite ready for adoption yet, I brought them to North Brooklyn Cats' Adoption Event at Muddy Paws so they could get some practice in!
They were not excited to travel to their big debut...
PROTEST!
BUT...once they were there, they had such a great time!
Lakshmi was the belle of the ball!
She head bumped everyone that pet her
She REALLY liked the catnip candy canes!
CATNIP!!!
And perhaps the best thing that happened all day...someone came in and fell for them. They have a home! I explained they were not ready to go home yet, but as soon as they are spayed and neutered, they will be ready to go! Their new mom and dad seem absolutely lovely and I just can't wait to bring them to their new home, even though its always hard to say good bye.
Happy Holidays!
Stay Tuned!

We are rambunctious!

We're 7 weeks old and we're loving every minute of it!
We love playing and jumping!
And of course climbing!
Even though we love to play, and my big brother Ganesha eats like a big boy, I still like my bottle:) I'm big, but I'm still the baby.
